Coron Island, located Northern part of Palawan, coron busuanga is one of the sub-regions identified by the 1991. The Northern Palawan Area particularly coron Busuanga benefited from further tourism planning in the last 10 years and the latest tourism plan is known as the Sustainable Environmental Management Project in Northern Palawan (SEMP-NP). The SEMP-NP provides a more detailed tourism plan for the municipalities of Busuanga, Coron island, and El Nido as first priority areas and Culion and Taytay as second priority areas. This structure planning of the municipalities of Coron in the Calamianes Group of Islands to the application of tourism planning principles. The municipalities of Busuanga and Coron Island were planned jointly since many tourism or activities crossed into each other’s administrative boundaries. It was also clear that major tourism developments in either municipality would influence tourism in general in both municipalities
